Rectangular cardboard packaging containing 6 hexagonal cardboard tubes. Inside each tube there is a white plastic bag containing 20 incense sticks, approx. 23 cm long, of which 18 cm is covered with a black solid matter (incense) which is highly perfumed.
The product poses a chemical risk because the incense sticks release aromatic hydrocarbons such as benzene, toluene, xylene and styrene during and after combustion and the estimated emissions exceed the recommended safe concentration for indoor air. Benzene is carcinogenic and mutagenic. In addition, these aromatic hydrocarbons are toxic when inhaled or ingested and irritants to the eyes and skin. As the product is intended for use in closed environments, the release of benzene and toluene is considered harmful to health.
